Reconnect with your authentic Self.

PSYCHOTHERAPY FOR OPENHEARTED LIVING

healing Hearts: Transforming trauma and nurturing self-esteem

Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy for the Ottawa area and across Ontario .

Do you struggle with self-esteem and feel as though your self-worth depends on the approval of others?

Are you having difficulties finding meaning in your life and don’t know who you are anymore?

Are you overwhelmed by your emotions?

Perhaps you feel different or like you don’t belong?

OPEN HEART PSYCHOTHERAPY ASPIRES TO ENHANCE THE RELATIONSHIP YOU HAVE WITH YOURSELF, YOUR LOVED ONES, AND HOW YOU RELATE TO YOUR WORLD.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, past trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or low self-esteem, the aim is to support you to:

  • Build inner strength by minimizing self-judgment and criticism while you are in the midst of emotional turmoil or weathering strong life obstacles;

  • Develop self-acceptance by not only treating yourself in a loving, kind manner, but also by cherishing who you are as a person – similar to how we aspire to treat those in our lives whom we love;

  • Thrive – once you develop self-acceptance, and build your inner strength and self-esteem, previous barriers to healing will no longer be insurmountable. Instead, you can feel authentic as you move closer toward a meaningful life that is in line with your values.

Rachelle Viau, Ottawa NARM Psychotherapist, specializing in Childhood Trauma, Relationship Concerns, self-esteem, and life transitions, offering compassionate support in a welcoming environment.

Hi there, I’m Rachelle and I’m so glad you are here.

I provide a welcoming and openhearted space for you to reconnect to your Self.

My approach to psychotherapy is trauma focused. What this means is my work centers around how developmental and relational wounds from your past show up in the present.

These wounds can present themselves in the form of disconnection, anxiety, depression, emotion dysregulation, self-criticism, shame, low self-esteem, people pleasing, perfectionism, and even chronic illness.

Together, we will explore how you had to adapt to get to where you are, and how these adaptations may be getting in the way of you living more fully and authentically in the present moment.

While you can’t change what happened to you in the past, you can change you’re relationship to it and the impact it has on you and your loved ones. Working together, we will discover new ways of reacting, responding, and experiencing.

Specializing in helping you embrace your most authentic Self.

  • NARM is an approach to healing relational, developmental and childhood trauma (C-PTSD).

    Together, with curiosity, we will explore and honour how you had to survive. Through this exploration, we will increase awareness of our survival strategies, and shift automatic ways of responding in order to fully and deeply reconnect to your authentic self.
