Education and Credentials
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I hold a master’s degree in counselling psychology from the University of Ottawa. I also hold an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Ottawa, and a social service worker certificate from Algonquin College.
Counselling Experience
I have more than 14 years of experience working in the field of mental health. During this time, I have gained experience working with individuals on a variety of topics such as emotional disturbances, eating disorders, childhood trauma, interpersonal conflict, self-esteem issues, anxiety, and depression.
Prior to private practice, I was a counsellor with the University of Ottawa’s Community Counselling Clinic where I provided long-term psychotherapy to students of the University in need of psychological support. For the past 12 years, I have been working with complex mental health issues as a mental health rehabilitation worker within a multidisciplinary community mental health team. In addition, for the past four years, I have been co-facilitating Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) skills groups in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association and providing DBT psychotherapy to individuals suffering from borderline personality disorder.
