Personal Philosophy
Life can be hard. Whether it is life transitions, stressors, illness, or any perceived limitation, we all struggle, experience pain, sorrow, and discomfort. Other times we can suffer when we get too caught up in the rat race. Yet there is more to life than performance, perfection, comparisons, or acquisitions.
The question is: how do we support ourselves during difficult times? What brings value to our lives? More importantly, what type of relationship would we like to have with ourselves, others, and the world on the winding path of life? Perhaps how we react, respond, experience, and show up in the world – with ourselves and others – is what matters most.
I believe psychotherapy connects us with our strengths, values, and compassion we need to live a more fulfilling, meaningful, and authentic life, despite obstacles we all encounter. It helps guide us toward approaching life with an open heart.
As with any habit or skill, what we practice grows stronger – where the mind goes, energy flows. This is no different in psychotherapy, you can gain valuable skills that, when practiced, increase inner strength, self-acceptance, and resilience – and ultimately reduce suffering. Working together, we will explore new ways of reacting, responding, and experiencing.
Therapeutic Approach
You are a unique individual and I approach therapy with that in mind. We will work collaboratively in order to meet your individual needs. My practice is rooted in humanistic, mindful self-compassion, and attachment-oriented approaches.
However, I have experience in a variety of orientations – such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy – and have the flexibility to draw on these theories in order to develop a customized plan to reach your goals.
Fee
Session fees are $140 plus HST per 50 minute session.

As I am currently supervised by a clinical psychologist, I am covered by most insurance plans. Please check with your insurance as coverage varies among providers.
